Released in 2008, it was immediately noted for its intense action sequences, liberal use of quick time events, the excellent and poignant story, the great dialog, exceedingly refined storytelling, wonderful soundscore, and an overall theme that felt like a worthy addition to the Star Wars canon. One of the other standout Star Wars games was The Force Unleashed. And whereas there have been a lot of Star Wars games that were simply dreadful, it would be fair to say that games based in George Lucas’s galaxy far far away generally have a better record than most of their other licensed brethren. The Rogue Squadron games were always fan favorites, and the Knights of the Old Galaxy games by Bioware are definitely amongst the best RPGs ever created. Crafted by the (once) fine minds at LucasArts, the quality of the Star Wars games may not have been consistently great, but at their best, the Star Wars games have shone as being amongst the very best of their times. Said exceptions would include the Star Wars games. Games in the latter category suck with very few exceptions. Games in the former category suck without exception. The second would be regarding licensed games, that is, games based on existing intellectual properties. The first would be regarding poor sequels, hastily put together compilations of ideas that were rejected during the development of the first game by the developers rushed to the market to cash in on the popularity of the hit game- and there are many, many such sequels, even today. Oh, and we have also shared Red Dead Redemption 2, Batman Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1 & Metal Gear Solid 5, as well as Diablo 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, COD: Modern Warfare and Horizon Zero Dawn running in 8K.There are two things, I suppose, that all gamers can reach a universal consensus on. You can also find Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and The Witcher 3 in 8K. Speaking of 8K videos, here are Just Cause 3, GTA 5 and Crysis 3 running in 8K.
It looks amazing, so be sure to watch it. The results are great and give us a glimpse at a modern-day remaster of this Star Wars game. Additionally, Digital Dreams used Reshade Ray Tracing in order to further enhance the game’s graphics.
Things changed though when the company replaced its CEO, and now you can get both of them on Steam.īut anyway, YouTube’s “Digital Dreams” released a new video showing The Force Unleashed 2 running in 8K/Max settings on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3090. Initially, the first game did not come out on PC (because Lucas Arts was focused on consoles and was claiming that PCs weren’t powerful enough for it… yeah… sure Jan). I don’t know if it’s just me, but I really liked the Star Wars The Force Unleashed games.
